Dive for dreams
Trust your heart if the seas catch fire
(and live by love though the stars walk backward)
Honor the past but welcome the future

"The greatest adventure is what lies ahead
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said
The chances, the changes are all yours to make
The mold of your life is in your hands to break"

"If"

“If freckles were lovely, and day was night,
And measles were nice and a lie warn't a lie,
Life would be delight,
But things couldn't go right
For in such a sad plight
I wouldn't be I.

If earth was heaven and now was hence,
And past was present, and false was true,
There might be some sense
But I'd be in suspense
For on such a pretense
You wouldn't be you.

If fear was plucky, and globes were square,
And dirt was cleanly and tears were glee
Things would seem fair,--
Yet they'd all despair,
For if here was there
We wouldn't be we.”

dream of californication

i cannot believe that this time tomorrow i will be getting ready to board a plane to California...

i'm not going to be able to sleep tonight because it's going to be like Christmas Eve... but better. i don't know how i'm going to go everywhere that i want to go in less than 5 days (about 2 days each in LA and San Diego). in LA i will definitely be making sure to hit the fashion district and Santee Alley, Santa Monica pier, Venice Beach Boardwalk, and Last Bookstore. in San Diego i'm staying in the Gaslamp District and can't wait to explore that area, the harbor, and also the Museum of Man (Egyptian and Mayan exhibits here i come). i'll also be going to a few interviews for potential internships while i'm there. that, plus apartment searching, and all the places i want to go? looks like sleeping won't be in my schedule. i'll be posting lots of pictures!
until then...

Mass Communication Through Music

Jimmy Page on the power of music (He read my mind on this):
“If I ever really felt depressed, I would just start putting on all my old records that I played as a kid, because the whole thing that really lifted me then still lifted me during those other times. It was good medicine for me, and it still does that for me when I put something on. Isn’t it wonderful that we’ve got all that good medicine? I think it’s got to be all part of our DNA, this mass communication through music. That’s what it is. It’s got to be, hasn’t it? Music is the one thing that has been consistently there for me. It hasn’t let me down.”
